In the description and photos, its "effective length" is 2.4 inches. Okay, but the recoil cam can't rotate down to engage the 2.4" hole, nor can the spring compress to zero length. To half-load the spring, allow the cam to rotate to the off position, then the maximum depth this pin can penetrate is 1.75 inches. See pictures to demonstrate my thoughts. Hope that helps.
