works well - welding and soldering
I'm no pro when it comes to soldering so keep that in mind as you read. I was having trouble getting the solder suction cup to pick up solder from the board I was working on. I could feel the suction on my finger, but the solder didn't penetrate. Although I probably am. The solder wick worked very well for me. The solder picked up fairly quickly and worked well. When the wick is heated, the plastic roller may melt a little, but not much.
