I replaced the MTB saddle with this one. I couldn't be happier. I ride a lot of rocky, technical terrain. I could not do this for more than half an hour without feeling severe pain in my buttocks. I was so discouraged from the constant pain that I thought I would have to give up riding. I tried changing the angle of the saddle. I've tried all kinds of soft shorts and suede. I've tried making short trips in hopes of creating "resistance". I tried to limit the time I spent in the saddle, but that wasn't the solution. So I decided to try another saddle and bought this one. Doesn't matter! Now I like to ride two, three hours or more, 15-20 miles or more without pain, with or without soft shorts. I have recommended it to other women I ride with and some of them have tried it and are very glad they did. This supports a woman's wider sit bones (which is common for us with kids), and the slightly arched back also gives a bit of support to the spine. So it might work well for men with back problems as well. The cutout allows for good airflow and keeps you cool, which also makes riding more comfortable. worth your money. Would definitely buy it again.
