Review on πŸ’‘ TORCHSTAR UL Listed Recessed Downlight Junction: Perfect Industrial Electrical Lighting Solution by Craig Goodman

Rigid with plaster ceiling but good lighting

I was having trouble keeping the light flush with my plaster and batten ceiling. I ended up having to smear the bottom edges of the fairing with silicone and hold them in place until they set - not ideal when it's time to replace one of them. Stronger clips would be required to hold the light flush if the ceiling is thicker than standard drywall. It was nice! I expect the installation to go very smoothly in this situation. Light color temperature (2700K) and brightness are good, and they don't flicker or buzz with the selected dimmer (Lutron LED + Toggler, 150W, wired, 3-way). Note. If you experience flickering/hum issues, replace the light switch with a compatible (for LED) switch - a lower wattage output from an LED dimmer switch almost always fixes this (150w vs 600w) - LED lights have a lower wattage than the minimum Lamp power incandescent lamps (too much power). These particular lights dim very well to the point where they barely "turn on". Generally solid headlights.

Pros
  • Absolutely stunning!
