Review on 🦍 Gorilla Automotive 61187 Acorn Bulge Seat Lifetime Lug Nuts: Ultimate Choice for 1/2" Thread Size by Keith Harris

The finish is excellent but be careful not to cut the strands.

I do a lot of autocross racing and the stock nuts on my Mustang failed after a short time with frequent tire changes (road on R-Comps before race, R-Comps on road on the way home, lather, rinse, repeat ). The stainless steel cup on the stems began to stretch and burrs formed on the hexes, and the burrs on the shank became extremely difficult to remove from the socket. I bought the gorillas knowing they are solid steel and hopefully they will live up to their name and really serve as nuts for a lifetime. I will say they are solidly built and I'm almost positive they will hold up to the years of abuse I put them through. However, they have one disadvantage and that is they appear to have a greater tendency to cross threads. I often can't do them manually because it's impossible to work at an angle to make sure they're on a "square" and don't cross each other. I remove the socket from the battery punch which I use to get the leverage and clutch I need to push it against the ledge. Once they start they seem fine and turning them off is fine too. The chrome finish looks very high quality and the areas where the frame comes in contact with it are still in great condition so they will definitely last. If you don't have as many bikes as I do, you won't have a problem with that. If you do what I do, this might not be the best choice.
