this thing is amazing we used an electric heating pad but were constantly worried that the kittens would be curious and chew the wire. Now we just heat it in the microwave, wrap it in a towel and it easily holds the heat for 12 hours. The kittens we raise love it, and even our adult cats love it when the kittens aren't around. I would recommend it to anyone raising kittens or puppies and I'm sure older pets will love it too. will probably be a good heater for anything you would use a heating pad for. I can't give the "pet bowl" a 1, it's collapsible and we never used it. and 2. it was just a bonus to the actual product we were buying.
