This socket was very easy to install and has actually turned my 230v socket into a much more useful and versatile socket that I use for all my woodworking tools. With a pair of plugs properly wired for 115 volts and mounted on a short cord with a regular 115 volt outlet on the other end, I can use the outlet for any of my 115 volt tools. I installed separate plugs on each of my 230 volt tools with the correct wiring so I can continue to use the outlet for those tools.
