Review on Samsung Galaxy A72 (SM-A725M/DS) by Adithep Saengdern ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

This smartphone has 4 cameras; main, wide-angle, telephoto, and for macro photography. Wide-angle did not test; moreover - not once in more than two years (my S10 also has one) has there been a practical need for it. The main camera has a 64 megapixel sensor, but almost always shoots in 16 megapixel mode (combining pixels by 4). You can force the 64MP mode on (this is in the menu item where the frame proportions are selected), but the result will most likely disappoint you (see the picture; this is a strong crop, so don't be scared). Yes, the detail seems to increase, but the frame is desperately washed out, so that some small details even disappear. In addition, this mode is unlikely to work in low light. The main camera has optical stabilization, which is great and cool. At the time of my youth, it was impossible to imagine this even in a large camera, but now - please - in a smartphone, and not even in a flagship. As for optical stabilization in a long-focus camera, there are conflicting rumors on the Internet. Some reviewers say there is; others - what is not. The manufacturer's website is silent on this matter. My experiments allow me to cautiously assume that there is. In low light conditions, and in Pro mode, the telephoto camera simply does not turn on. The zoom increases, but it turns out to be a digital zoom of the main camera. A macro camera allows you to shoot an object from a distance of 5-7 cm. This camera has a fixed focus, so focusing is done by approaching or moving away from the subject. The main camera does not focus closer than 25-30 cm, so the macro camera is quite useful. A number of reviewers complain about the weak processor, which supposedly does not allow you to play games. I find that these are the whims of maliciously snobbish aesthetes. It is very possible for an ordinary person to play. Here are the multi-core benchmarks on GeekBench: S10 - 2075 parrots; A72 - 1653 of their own; ZTE Blade V10-1114 and who has a weak processor here?

Pros
  • Took for my wife. Everything about this smartphone is great! Starting from the exterior; in the selected sky blue color, he is as beautiful as Apollo! The wife goes not overjoyed. A good screen, a capacious battery, sound, well, in general, some advantages. But she hitherto had a ZTE Blade V10 - also a good device. I tested his cameras, and was also delighted. In the vast majority of scenes, it shoots at least as well as my Samsung Galaxy S10, and this, for a moment, is the flagship of 2022, whose camera was recognized as the best that year. My favorite sharpness test is the moon face (see picture). For those wishing to repeat this test, let me remind you that the exposure should be the same as that of astronauts on the surface of the moon to shoot the surrounding landscapes. In the "auto" mode, this will not work, because. the moon will be hopelessly overexposed. You need to manually set the aperture (who has), sensitivity and shutter speed. In the attached picture, the shutter speed was 1/750 sec, and the sensitivity was at its minimum. My S10 outperforms this A72 only in extreme low light, such as when shooting landscapes in moonlight; but how often have you even seen such landscapes? In normal low light conditions (in a dimly lit room, for example, or on a city street), everything works fine.
Cons
  • 1) Disgusting instruction. I mean the "big" instruction in the form of a PDF file, which you need to download yourself from the manufacturer's website. Unfortunately, it is now even fashionable to write instructions in the style of "fuck off the boss, and choke on your instruction." However, the consumer still has many questions. 2) The charger is attached, it's good. The bad thing is that its output connector is not a full-sized USB, but a small type-C. Well, the cable, respectively, with two type-C at the ends, and there are no buses for data transfer in this cable. Otherwise, this cable could be used to connect two smartphones and transfer data, but alas - only charging. This cable and charger set is unique and not interchangeable with others, which is like a return to that wild era when each phone had its own unique charger, and God forbid it was lost or burned.
