Unscented Fruity Shampoo

Like some other reviewers, I loved the scent of this shampoo when I first opened the bottle! The first thing I did when I got my box was open it to smell it and it's as good as everyone says it is! Smells of coconut and berries. But the longer I use it, the more it smells. It's really hard to explain. The distinct smell of berries and coconut is still there, which I really like, but there's also a hint of starchy, natural medicine. It's almost like pouring some yogurt into a mug and then letting it dry. It's not a terrible scent, but it's some kind of remedy, but I'm just not as in love with it as I was originally. What I really love is what it DOESN'T contain: parabens, sulfates, chemicals, or animal tears. (not tested on animals). I hate using toxic substances that can either penetrate my skin or contaminate my water sources, but I actually got my hair cut last weekend and the hairdresser told me that sulfates react chemically with the hair, especially on curly hair (curly hair tends to be more porous so more suited to curly than straight hair) and make it frizzy. So using a sulfate-free shampoo is not only good for your health and the environment, it's also good for your hair! Even if the bottle isn't that big, I think Hairgurt is really worth the money. You don't have to use a lot and it's really cheap for comparable products. One thing I'm a little confused about is the idea of prebiotics. I'm not entirely sure what the point of that is. Although our entire body has its own microbiome, I don't understand what the point of prebiotics is and how they even have a small benefit, especially for hair. It seems that the company tried to take all the healthy lifestyle buzzwords and apply them to the shampoo. Overall I think this is a great shampoo that's good for you and the environment, it gets the job done (cleans your hair!) and makes your hair beautiful! Highly recommended!
