RUN FROM THESE CHEAP COILS!

Just want to warn people about those horrible ignition coils (with pictures to prove how horrible they are). I bought them for my Expedition 06 (Triton 5.4 liter engine). It is important to note that my car has never coded a misfire. He simply had less power, sometimes worked a little rough and used a ton of gasoline on it. Don't let the cheap x8 price of these junk coils fool you, you get what you pay for and the savings go towards gas bills and other repairs. Original equipment parts (and many other good aftermarket parts) come with a piece of ferrite in the center of the spring. My reds didn't have this piece of ferrite in any of the 8 I've bought. Somehow these coils melted where the spring enters the coil, the coils splintered (red part) and the springs rusted and fell apart. They were installed by a properly certified mechanic. Another thing obvious is that bad coils can ruin catalytic converters so I had to replace both of my converters while they were in my SUV and I believe they caused the failure. I paid dearly for trying to save money on reels. Denso is what my SUV currently has, still affordable, well under the price of motorcycles and works great (I've also heard that Denso makes motorcycle coils and they look identical to the motorcycle coils I have). Also used BWD ignition coils without problems. Whatever brand you use, just stay away from those cheap coils! They come in different colors but the price gives them away. Keep that in mind as you look at the photo. My car never coded misfires while inside, but obviously they were bad.
