The gel is very comfortable! , Easy to use. Read the directions and use baby powder to make it less sticky. I tried to install it in a non-destructive way, marking each piece I cut so I could put them back together. I did one shift and then went to the second shift. I've tried taping the seams but that makes things more difficult. I made the gel a little higher than the foam so everything is level when I plant. I don't feel any transition when I do it like this. I recommend a double coat if you can. It's just better. I recommend making a large area, the gel is enough for everything, even if you buy a small sheet like me. I used 1/2" thick foam and plastic wrap/foil prior to installing the lid. I don't feel any transition. the fit is better. Perhaps a thinner foam like the one the seller suggests is better than the one I'm using I can just try to remove the 1/2" foam from the top. Before I added the foam everything was just perfect.
