Easier to set up than kebab skewers.

This is a good tool, I use it a lot more than I expected. It has proven amazing for cutting the same strips of corrugated cardboard I use for models and prototypes, as well as splitting thin strips of wood along the grain, one of the first uses for them. You make repeated cuts on both sides with the same original edge and then break the wood along the cut line. The resulting edge will need some planing to clean it up, but is very effective on softwoods, perhaps up to 1/4 inch thick. Knife line, not V-shaped pin line. The quick adjustment is very practical. On the other two I use a wedge in the tapered slot to lock the lever in place and that can be a little finicky. on the short side at 90 mm. The other two I have (also bought here at Revain) are 120mm long and register more easily when the arm is further extended. it's done. But it's very comfortable and its somewhat loose tolerances - fitting the stem to the body doesn't seem to affect its repeatability. I'm glad I have it and use it often.

Pros
  • CUTTING EDGE FOR STORAGE: When not in use, the blade can be stored in the wooden box. This is a safe carpenter's tool. Convenient to carry and store.
