As previously reported here, this filter does not fit the GX1S01R. I've put many hours of my time into this, including calling GE Smart Water customer service - the name is an oxymoron as there's nothing clever about how GE redesigned this filter and made it 1/8 inch longer to accommodate it to make bigger did not close . in the GX1S01R system. GE is fully aware of this issue but has no plans to address the issue I really couldn't understand but was told so. They didn't offer me any solution at all. However, I have found that the Denali Pure filter offered here at Revain is the right size and fits with no issues. So understand - don't buy a GE filter for a GE case.
