First find out what these lenses are and why you need them. This is NOT a universal lens. DO NOT buy this camera thinking you can shoot anything and everything with it. WHY IS IT? - Portraits. Take your time, take 5-7 shots of each pose. You will be very satisfied with the result and the quality. If the product isn't huge, it can make it really popular. The depth of field is amazing and the background is almost pure bokeh if you get it right. Depth of field. Whatever you feel, you need a sharp DOF, that's it. A shot of a model sitting on a bench with leaves in the foreground could be one in a million. But like I said, take your time, make sure the model is in focus and take 5-7 shots. WHAT IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR: Sports, action, family BBQ. This is NOT a universal lens. If you use it for that, you will be very disappointed that over 75% of the images are blurry. - Full body shots. To get a full body shot I had to step back almost 25 to 30 feet. It's 85mm, no zooming in and out. - Wide angle. I know WOW DUH. But my 50mm 1.4 lens or my 18-55 2.8 lens do a very good job for general photography. But 85MM would be a huge challenge to get a complete car or building for example, right. etc. (without going half a mile away). As a result, the lens is amazing. In just a few shots I was in love. But I immediately realized that this lens should be used under controlled conditions and never be taken for granted (e.g. if you think you have it, focus 3 more times and take 6 more shots). This will be a welcome addition to my photo bag. Final analysis? Worth every penny.
