These are very well made and strong. I have used the simple gentle leader but our very strong large pseudo puppy destroyed that one. I was totally thrilled with this much stronger and very well made gentle leader but regrettably that was short lived. I assume the feeling of this gentle leader because it is sturdier and heavier that it bothered my strong pup and twice he managed to unlock it while out on a walk. Fortunately, I do not solely rely on the gentle leader but also use a regular leash for double protection. With that said, my dog is quite hyper and mischievous and would certainly encourage trying this gentle leader. The sellers of this gentle leader are excellent as well; very easy to work with and very considerate. I had purchased 2 to ascertain accurate fit and had intended to return the 2nd. when I responded to their inquiry of the intended return and told them about what had happened and that my husband had mistakenly opened the 2nd one and therefore would not be returning; they automatically credited me for the 2nd and asked me to keep or give to someone who might be able to use, really nice. Other than the locking device of this gentle leader perhaps being a bit stronger to enhance the sturdiness of this gentil leader; it would carry a 5 star rating with me.
