Because whey increases protein synthesis rapidly and casein blocks protein breakdown, a combination of the two would be ideal. That's why I take whey protein (also from ON) in the morning and 2 scoops of casein protein daily after training as a post-workout meal. Casein is a slow-digesting protein, so it stays in the body longer and works longer, which is why it's often taken before bed (when your goal is to build muscle and potentially gain weight) to build new muscle tissue and promote muscle growth . not to mention that it also repairs broken muscle fibers post-workout while you sleep. So far ON products work best for me because I can feel and see how my body changes over time. I've tried other tapes but nothing compares to this one.
