BEWARE! Concave back, gorilla strap, hammer dropped and broken

My neighbor bought one like this. It was great, but our apartment building doesn't allow us to put screws in the door, so our knockers have to be wrapped in very strong duct tape. The back of this hammer is concave. Even though they attached it with gorilla tape, the small outside edge that was supposed to be used to attach the hammer wasn't enough surface area to hold the hammer and it fell and broke. Keep in mind that even if you use very strong gorilla tape, there isn't enough surface area to tape it in place. BTW, my turtle hammer stays on the same gorilla tape they used, even though it's very heavy (weighs over 1 pound) as it has a 1" x 3" flat back. This hummingbird hammer needs to be fixed with screws.

Pros
  • Gives your guests something nice to announce their arrival
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
