This 2 liter jug is just what we were looking for to replace some of the old Tupperware jugs. The top snaps into place very firmly, but you must open the spout lid to securely close the top. The top is a bit difficult to take off once it snaps in tight, but I want it to be too tight rather than leaking during use. So far the only time a leak has occurred is when I wasn't careful to put the lid on properly - my fault! They hold exactly 2 liters, so I just fill most with water, add the mix I'm using, then add more water to fill them all the way to the top for a full 2 liters of drink mix . Other reviewers have mentioned the smell, but the ones I received didn't have any unusual smells. We washed them in hot soapy water before use which removed the slight plastic smell. We have been using it daily for almost three weeks and are very happy with it.
