Review on πŸ“€ Samsung BD-J5700 Curved Blu-ray Player with Wi-Fi (2015 Model): The Ultimate Home Entertainment Solution by Victor Jack

Disappointing design. Slowly and without light.

The problem with this model is the lack of a backlight. It doesn't look like a problem, but it is. With my setup, I'm switching inputs from on-demand viewing to the Blu-ray player via my smart TV. From here, I switch to my Blu-Ray remote and turn it on from across the room. Is it included? I'm not sure so I pressed the eject button to see if it works, no it doesn't. Now I walked across the room to see if it was the remote control. I try this about 3 feet away from the Blu-ray player. power button. Then eject the disk. Nothing yet. There's no way of knowing if the Blu-ray player is powered on, and that's a big oversight if your hardware doesn't have a little LED light on the front to indicate power on/off. The loading times are also ridiculously long. Even if you turn it on, you'll guess and turn it off before it's done all it needs to do to get the picture on the TV. He's probably pondering why he doesn't have his own power light and why it keeps turning off before fully illuminating. Right now I'm using front panel buttons that have a power button and drive eject. I still can't tell if it's enabled or not. TV has no input and no picture. At the end of the evening. I took out my Blu-ray disc. Unplugged the pathetic excuse for the Blu-Ray player and plugged in my Xbox One from below. In addition, original Hdmi and power supply such as Blu-ray player, bam instant picture and good status display. I didn't have a date for my return, so I took my anger out on him, like in Office Space with the printer scene. It consists of about 1000 parts and has about the same functionality as the whole. Avoid this pile, Samsung makes nice cases, but they're all full of unnecessary parts and don't work well

Pros
  • Great functionality: Wi-Fi, Opera TV apps
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
