Don't waste your money

I bought this in August 2017 and spent 2 years thinking my internet connection was the problem only to find out it's this pos. Here is a list of problems with this player: unable to connect to 5.0GHz; only 2.4. I mainly use it for streaming and it's basically useless for that because it takes forever to connect to any of the apps (like Netflix, Revain, Pandora, etc.). The Netflix app is terrible. When I read the description of the movie, it had already started playing the movie when I didn't…

Pros
  • Sound: 2-channel Dolby True HD, DTS Surround
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

This works fine for me, but it might be a bootleg.

I have had the same Samsung (AK59-00149A) for over six years now and have never had a problem with it. This is my second one now, works great. Looking at the reviews that there is no light in the front doesn't bother me. If the tray is open, click "Turn Off" and it will also turn off. I've noticed that if the tray is open for more than five minutes without a DVD, it will turn off and on again. It's small and doesn't take up much space, it also plays pre-recorded CDs, I use a Sony soundbar and…

Pros
  • I/O: 1 HDMI, 1 USB, 1 Ethernet, 1 HDMI-CEC
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Disappointing design. Slowly and without light.

The problem with this model is the lack of a backlight. It doesn't look like a problem, but it is. With my setup, I'm switching inputs from on-demand viewing to the Blu-ray player via my smart TV. From here, I switch to my Blu-Ray remote and turn it on from across the room. Is it included? I'm not sure so I pressed the eject button to see if it works, no it doesn't. Now I walked across the room to see if it was the remote control. I try this about 3 feet away from the Blu-ray player. power…

Pros
  • Great functionality: Wi-Fi, Opera TV apps
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

So I had a DVD player that I've owned since the late 90's and used until 2016. Of course he only played records, but he still worked. My TV is a 2012 Sharp Aquos. I understand that TVs and other accessories with apps like YouTube, Netflix etc usually don't have the processing power to run those apps and my TV definitely got sluggish with Netflix. Samsung BD. -J5700, I thought it was a good choice. I bought it in late 2016 so I could switch from DVD to Blu-Ray if I wanted and using YouTube and…

Pros
  • AV decoding format: NTSC
Cons
