The perfect little ball head for use with a monopod for photography or quick video recording. This small ball head is well made, snaps securely into place and has a slot to allow the head/camera to be in a vertical position. It features a retractable locking base with built-in spirit level, which is secure enough to make camera assembly and disassembly easy. The base is marked at 10 degree intervals with a larger line marking each 90 degree mark; no grade numbering. It is very light and small and will not add any weight when carried. The only downside I can see is that the single adjustment knob, while large and convenient for locking and unlocking, can't easily adjust the tension as you move the camera. However, when the tension is eased, the base has a buttery smooth dampening motion that is very good for object tracking. This hasn't bothered me as I almost always use the fully released head and only lock it in place when not using the camera or stow it in the vertical slot when using the monopod as a walking stick. This small ball head can carry up to 3 kg.
