This jar with a metal lid is better than I expected. The size is just perfect, not too big to fit in my fridge and not too small to hold enough water for dinner. And it's a pretty nice addition to a nice dining table. The metal lid has both an opening for the passage of ice and a filter to prevent ice or fruit from entering the jar. There is also a plastic ring on the top to prevent water from leaking out the sides. The only downside is that they don't recommend washing the jug or lid in the dishwasher. But that's okay, it's lightweight and easy to clean.
