My boss' desk has been wired for years. As items were added to the table (speakers, new scanner, new printer, etc.), the cables became increasingly messy. It was a mess for years and nobody could handle it. With COVID protocols most of us are working from home and there is only one person completing a few chores each day that require us to be on site. I decided to use this time and take control of the cords. I started disabling everything and organizing similar things together. I was planning on using zip ties but they seem to suit the needs better as we can get updates and I didn't want to spend a lot of time reorganizing and re-binding everything. Plus, they came with the added bonus of an adhesive backing. So I came on a day when the office was empty and reorganized everything. I started around 1pm and didn't leave until 5:15pm (seriously, that table was a mess). I could find cords from old office equipment that we kept plugging in because we didn't know what was old and what was new. Initially the table used 3 extension cords and a backup battery. Due to the cable length, I could only do without an extension cable. These reusable cable ties saved lives! I cleaned all the surfaces I wanted to stick them to, defined exactly how I wanted, then removed the backing and stuck them to the walls, table and even the heater. I had to go back almost a week after putting everything in and I was so happy to see that everything was left where I left it. I will be buying some of these for home use to organize my kitchen appliance cords and maybe re-route them behind our living room TV. me, so I couldn't mount it properly on the wall. A colleague brought the appropriate screws and fixed it.)
