Okay, I see other reviews going back to 2005, but my two cents are just this D-Link powered 4-port USB hub , unlike cheap ones that ship from China etc. work fine with my Macbook. I even have an external manual Time Machine backup drive attached to it. In the past, NO unpowered USB hubs and NO powered USB hubs made in China have worked despite claims of Mac compatibility. After all these years it shouldn't have been that hard for clone makers to get it right, but Mac USB ports are notoriously a bit unreliable or underpowered, and Macbooks only have two ports, so a hub is very useful. This is a simple solution.
