Just the right size for a desktop.

Just the right size for my desk. Not so small that you have to hold it carefully when connecting devices. Not so small that a mouse can drag it across the table. Just the right size. Small feet at the base keep it in place. If not, put a velcro on it and connect it to the velcro on the table. For most purposes (using a mouse, keyboard and reading a flash drive) there is no need to connect a power supply. I have the power adapter handy, but I don't plug it in all the time. I really appreciate…

Great USB hub, TERRIBLE device charger

I bought this because my old powered D-Link hub was rusty. Thought I'd stick with the same brand as the old one lasted a long time. There was an error. The USB hub function works fine, but the charging function is a joke. The ad claims that there are 4 fast charge ports. no There is only ONE that should be a "fast" charging port. It is not. It takes much longer to charge my iPhone than the Apple wall charger. It is designed to charge the iPad. Big chance.

Best External USB Hub

What a great 4-port external hub! My friends and I have had problems with any PCI hub card, regardless of manufacturer or location, on any computer because they make them so cheap and don't have to check for compatibility. This product's documentation does not state that it is compatible with Windows 98 or ME. I guarantee this hub. Install the hub with the computer powered off and the hub powered on. Boot and the new hardware will be found as a generic USB hub. The correct driver installation…

Does what it's supposed to do

This model has the advantage of being covered by a US warranty and made by a fairly reputable company. I was surprised at how many non-US models are on sale and therefore not covered by the US warranty. Let the buyer be alert. Before purchasing, check the manufacturer's website to see if it is a US model. I see a surprising number of USB hub failure reports in reviews. I've had 3 USB hubs for 4-6 years and they've never failed so it's possible the quality has gone down since I bought mine. I…

Fixing a power issue I had with another hub

I had another powered USB 2.0 hub that didn't seem to put out enough power (my RGB gaming keyboard sometimes failed to initialize due to malnutrition ). Replaced that hub with this one and no more problems.

Not suitable for my main application, maybe suitable for you

Worked briefly, then ate lunch and took the rest of the day off, paid. I used a hub between the external hard drive and the desktop hoping to free up a few USB slots as the desktop is used as a network file server on my home network. Small files worked fine, but larger files resulted in the drive locking through the hub. Removing the hub allowed for a full transfer, and the hub was powered externally.

  • Practical thing

Love the size and design of this hub

I bought this USB hub to use with my Raspberry Pi 2. First off, I love the size and design of this hub. Unfortunately, this doesn't quite work as I had hoped. I planned to use the charging port to power the Pi, and then connect the hub's data input port to one of the Pi's open USB ports in a "tail-eating snake" configuration. Unfortunately, when the Pi is connected in this way, it enters a cycle of continuous reboots. You can avoid this problem by plugging the Pi into one of the hub's other…

Most cheap hubs won't work with my MAC - DLINK

Okay, I see other reviews going back to 2005, but my two cents are just this D-Link powered 4-port USB hub , unlike cheap ones that ship from China etc. work fine with my Macbook. I even have an external manual Time Machine backup drive attached to it. In the past, NO unpowered USB hubs and NO powered USB hubs made in China have worked despite claims of Mac compatibility. After all these years it shouldn't have been that hard for clone makers to get it right, but Mac USB ports are notoriously a

Excellent USB hub; Works for me without AC

I originally bought this hub to make it easier to use multiple USB devices with my laptop when using it on my desktop. At home. My printer, mouse, barcode scanner, and thumb drive are all USB devices, and pulling out my laptop to unplug one and plug in the other is getting pretty old. as if almost useless. At 4 inches wide and under 1 inch tall, the hub should easily fit on any desk, and rubber feet help keep it in place. The ports are wide enough so you shouldn't have any trouble connecting…
