Review on 🚘 Mann-Filter CUK 2939 Cabin Filter: Activated Charcoal for Audi/Volkswagen Models by Richard Eledge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for Volkswagen MK6 Golf / GTI

This Mann cabin air filter is exactly the same as the OEM filter fitted to all Volkswagen vehicles after 2010. Same manufacturer, same materials. Please don't be put off by some reviews for stronger frames or foams. Materials may vary slightly in previous years. Installation takes 10 minutes or less and requires no tools. Don't pay your dealer for it. The manufacturer's recommended service interval is every 20,000 miles. For the cost, I would recommend an annual replacement. Step 1: Loosen the two plastic thumbscrews under the passenger side footwell (directly under the glove box). Step 2: After removing the screws, peel off the carpet. It is only held by the surrounding plastic plates. For convenience, remove the carpet trim completely. Don't worry about that. It's easy to get it back. Step 3: You should see a rectangular plastic box on the back. The lid slides to the right to open. Push hard to the right. Once it has moved all the way to the right, gently pull the cover to remove it. Step 4: Gently pull down the old filter. Pay attention to the orientation of the old filter. There will be leaves and debris so be sure to cover your face and eyes. Clean up the area. Step 5: Carefully place the new filter in the same direction as the old one you pulled out. The frame is paper, so it bends. As long as you don't handle it manually, you should be fine. Step 6: There are slots on the bottom of the filter that the cover latches fit into. Lift it up and slide it to the left to lock it. Replace the carpet and thumbscrews. Step 7: Use the money saved to buy 6 packs and a tank of gas.
