I bought them for a trip to Italy. It was the best $3 I've spent on a trip. Firstly I didn't even buy locks for my luggage, I used them and then zipped the zips together so if someone opens the bag they can't move the zip (google how easy someone can use a handle to lock your suitcase open and zip it up again without a trace) I took a carry-on suitcase and didn't need it for a trip to Italy, but on the way home I checked my suitcase and zipped it up, the main zips together and the front pocket zips together , then I pushed both zippers aside and closed them all together. Also, many places in Rome don't allow you to take a backpack in (unregistered - thanks to the guides) so luckily I took them and used them the same way when checking my backpack in museums. But one thing is: I was very careful and always made sure I had the scissors in my pocket so I could open them when I got my bags back. I will definitely take these with me on my next trip.
