I don't know why others had such trouble understanding how it works. Ignoring the instructions, I set his clock and got him to play MP3s from a USB drive. The sound quality is very good for such a compact/small device, perfect for the kitchen, living room or bedroom. I intend to use it for my 87 year old mother so it was tested with one USB drive loaded with soft/classical concerts and the other with pop artists like Dean Martin. Nothing is easy to use for someone this age, but the remote control is color coded and easy to navigate. If stopped or turned off, it will start again from the same MP3 point (instead of the beginning of the tracks). The AC adapter (included) runs cool so I left it on for an easy Amaz order. Shipping was a slow mess that wasn't tracked? . but the device has finally arrived and is working well. If it keeps going, it's a 5-star block. If it gets 1 star, it failed. but so far so good! . I've tried other devices that looked more like a ghetto blaster or a tiny cube (but played USB sticks), all others failed in record time. However, with this attractive little device, I had no problem letting it play continuously for several days. before delivery. I've never listened to the radio, only seen how it works.
