The stock exhaust on my 2019 Ford Ranger looked very simple. I've looked at other exhaust tips in the $20-$30 range, but reviews have pointed out problems with trim peeling or blueing/burnout. Painted versions received even worse reviews. I decided to spend a little more for this tip as I have had FlowMaster exhausts before and have never had an issue with their stainless steel finish. The clamping mechanism is also made of stainless steel and is really completely sealed. Although others have trimmed their stock exhaust up to 10-12 inches before clamping the tip, I have chosen not to trim mine at all. Because the Flowmaster tip tapers from top to bottom, the top lip is approximately 1 inch longer than the bottom lip. I was fine with the top edge of the tip sticking out 1 inch more than the stock exhaust pipe. I don't think this exhaust tip came coated with oil or anti-rust film from the factory, but then again I cleaned the SS surfaces with alcohol wipes prior to installation to avoid the bluing that can occur with oil SS surfaces after heating Photos Die The item provided by me is without the box, the stock exhaust pipe, the new tip installed and the inside view of the tip. shows the underside of the beveled tip.
