So having a steering wheel that offers good traction is of paramount importance to me.

[Updated September 19, 2016] WARNING: The steering wheel, by design, goes straight after a curve after the driver stops the force (torque) on the steering wheel. However, the dynamics of this process changes when a cover is placed on the steering wheel. If the housing is not tight around the handlebars, the handlebars may slip through the interior of the housing it is in contact with and straighten up prematurely. This is exactly what happened to me in a sharp turn. I almost lost control of my car on a corner because the steering wheel cover didn't hold the steering wheel tight enough! Fortunately, I was able to regain control. --- First feedback to come --- I drive a Toyota with a manual transmission, so I drive with one hand quite a bit. So having a steering wheel that offers good traction is of paramount importance to me. I bought this steering wheel cover to improve my steering wheel's grip. Unfortunately, the surface of this handlebar cover doesn't have the grip I was hoping for. I was expecting the "gel" part to feel more elastic. However, it feels more like vinyl than rubber and definitely doesn't feel like gel like the ones found in Dr. Scholl is used. Calling this product a "gel steering wheel cover" is very, very misleading. At best, the gel offers slightly better traction than my stock Toyota steering wheel. The cover adds some bulk to the steering wheel while also giving the steering wheel a softer feel. It also makes the steering wheel look a bit sportier and more muscular. The red color is eye catching and goes really well with my red Toyota. Too bad the stitching isn't red, which goes perfectly with my TRD shift knob. I plan on putting some peel and stick grip tape on the faux leather part of the steering wheel cover. This should help improve traction. All in all it's not too bad but I have a serious complaint with the manufacturer who has labeled it a "gel" steering wheel cover. So be careful, the "gel" isn't actually gel at all, it's vinyl. Another point to note is that this will increase the steering wheel volume. This is of course purely a matter of personal preference, so your mileage may vary on that matter.
