Outstanding transcriber! on Scribers

First of all, for those who say that the kit does not come with a tip, you have to unscrew the end, pull out the tip and twist. The tip is stored inside the scriber inside out so you can keep it in your pocket without accidentally poking out part of your foot and it was shipped that way for safety reasons. That he doesn't come with directions is a scribe. It has a hard, sharp point for marking measurements or points or anything else on hard surfaces like metal and wood. That's exactly what I need. It's not about the carbide as others have pointed out, but the description never said it was about the carbide. Starrett sells a carbide tipped version (70AX) but it costs about three times as much. I have another pen with a tiny carbide tip, but this steel-tipped Starrett blows out of the water. My only concern is that I can see how this might work out around the tip, as one reviewer pointed out, but if this becomes an issue in the future I'll adjust my review accordingly. Everything about this screams quality and I am very happy with my purchase.
