Review on Soft Feel Steel Crochet Hook by Knitter's Pride - 1.75mm by Steven Ripley

Very good! Fits Hook

- This is a crochet hook exactly 1.75mm (US size 6). In fact, this is a steel hook with a light, matte handle on one end. The "soft feel" isn't "soft"/foam - it's more like hard plastic (or rubberized?) that has been finely etched or flipped to give it a subtle texture that's a bit velvety to the touch. So the texture feels "soft" as opposed to a smooth stick, but it's definitely not soft. "But it's a *really* nice feeling." - The handle adds about 7/8 of an inch to the length of "regular" 5-inch steel hooks. It's very easy. It is beveled as you can see in the picture. At its widest point, which is just past the front end, it's about the thickness of your average regular pencil, maybe a little thinner. - I mainly use crochet hooks to help with some aspects of knitting like casting, edging and embellishing. While my use is limited, I clearly prefer Knitter's Pride Soft Feel Steel Hook because it's MUCH easier to hold and manipulate, as opposed to the flimsy, wire-like handles of plain steel hooks - **extra** small, very thin. The added (but by no means excessive) thickness of the Soft-Feel makes it much easier and more comfortable to use, especially since I have arthritis in my hands. - The hook part is very smooth, with no hint of burrs or roughness, and slides through the loops of the #10 cotton yarn I use for knitting.
