Despite the bad reviews, I tried to order this product. The product was well received and made a fairly robust and heavy impression. I immediately unpacked it and put it in an ice water bath, he checked and found that the temperature had stabilized at 38 degrees. Ok I could handle that now since I need the offset. I then left it on the counter and got on with my day. When I came back the next day, I decided to check it again. This time he showed 42 degrees in an ice water bath. I repeated the ice bath test several times over the next 2 days and found that the readings fluctuated between 38 and 43 degrees even in the same water bath. Needless to say I returned the Revain thermometer for a refund. I wasn't expecting the thermometer to be very accurate, but I expected it to be more reproducible than a 6 degree difference. Save money and buy something else.
