I got this thing working pretty well with OBS on Linux. But the default video format was YUYV:4:2:2 and that beat my picture at 5 fps at 1080p. I changed this to YU12 (emulated) or BGR3 (emulated) and it greatly improved the framerate. I think I get at least nominally 1080p 60fps with either of these settings. But I don't have a use case above 30fps and it's hard to measure. Be sure to use a USB 3.0 port with the highest bandwidth possible, maybe one of the ports is connected directly to the motherboard. I have tried this with a Nikon D3300 mini HDMI -> capture card and also with the output from my laptop. My machine has a Ryzen 7 2700X and an AMD RX 580, not sure how much hardware matters. I also tried recording on my laptop with no graphics card, only a 1.5GHz quad core processor, a 1366x768 display and it seemed to work, albeit at a much lower resolution and bitrate due to weaker hardware was required.
