Bought Christmas 2021 for outdoor use. Crazy tangled but I dealt with it and got the sets hung. The remote control is not separate but connected by a very long cord and is built into the plug. We bought 2 sets. The remote does not "hold" the setting you choose after it is turned off at night. When they turn on (using your own timer, etc) they start off on the selection that includes a bit of each program! I didn't know that would be the case and drove up to see them flashing all kinds of PSYCHO rhythms! They are stunning to see in one of the calmer settings BUT why should you have to reset them outdoors every night?!I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE LIGHTS!
