We appreciate the cost savings! I'm not sure if it is different from the Moen OEM cartridge and works well. When we first tested this 1222 replacement, it still leaked a bit and water flow was limited. We had other problems, probably caused by a previous renter's poor performance, and our brass valve was already scratched. Just to experiment, we removed a stick 1222 to test it and ended up replacing the rubber grommets (replacing them on the opposite sides they came from) and reinstalling the unit with plumber's lube. It really fixed the problems! The flow is now better than ever and the leak has been fixed.
