Review on Ambir ImageScan DS820Ix AS High Speed Automatic by Johnny Spencer

It is recommended to buy this scanner from Neat.com who no longer makes scanners but I still use their software and my Neat scanner is broken. Ambir is listed as a certified hardware partner on the Neat website. This printer, which is explicitly listed, does not say anything about macOS incompatibility either in this Amazon listing or on Neat's website. So it arrived today, I hooked everything up and went to Ambir's website to get the driver and software and SURPRISE! These folks have never heard of anything other than Windows and their support team doesn't answer calls or emails! I don't even know if the windows scanner is any good, but I have a product that I can't use and it's not my fault. I sent an email and got an auto reply saying they only reply on web chat on their website. There is no web chat on their website. Addendum: Ambir called me back shortly after he wrote this. There was nothing they could do about it. We found that the reason their site didn't have a chat feature is because Ambir didn't even bother to verify that their site works on non-Windows operating systems.
