Review on 🎭 Forbidden Broadway: Unveiling the Mylar Curtain (Applause Books) by Jessica Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Littered with typos

I've been a fan of Forbidden Broadway since the series began in the early 80's, so I've been looking forward to this book. In terms of information, humor and point of view, the book does not disappoint, although the historical context is somewhat suspect. The main problem with this book is all the typos, of which there are many. I was so distracted by all the mistakes and typos that I started counting them all. I gave up when I was about 60. Most of these errors are found in the actual lyrics of the show's various editions, meaning they are most likely the work of Alessandrini himself and not his collaborator Michael Portantere. I remain an ardent fan. Joke by Mr. Alessandrini, but I really hope that in future editions of this book (if there are any) someone will find time to correct everything a bit.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
