I've been looking at this or the self centering system above. It's cheaper and includes 3 dowel sizes where only DowelMax includes 1 so is it very very expensive when you get all 3 sizes the sizes included are very reasonable too size 5/16 is meaningless to me as you can cover everything with 1/4 or 3/8 these plus 1/2" Giants should cover all your dowel needs. a bit easier since you don't have to remember which side you were referring to. But it doesn't matter if they are centered as long as you just mark the reference edge and place it within 1/8 inch of closest to center, and You will be fine. The device seems to be really well made, my goodness first attempts were successful and. No $1500 dominoes or ugly pocket holes for me.
