They were installed in less than 15 minutes out of the box. The struts that were replaced were about 5 years old and becoming very weak. Will hold the hatch once you push it up. These "Made in China" new ones opened the hatch fully and quickly. I had to hold on to the sunroof to keep it from moving too far. More force of habit than necessity, but it has more lifting power and requires a small tug to pass the balance point when closing. Since all poses lose pressure over time, it's best to start strong. Would buy again.
