Review on AIRAID 200 985 Modular Intake Tube by Jeff Johnson

I have never written a review for any product but as I have relied heavily on other reviews to purchase this product I have decided to provide my own review . I couldn't decide if it was really worth the money as the reviews were everywhere. I bought it for my 2016 Sierra with a 5.3 liter engine. I bought a truck with 13,000,000 miles and drove about 4,000,000 miles continuously before installing the intake manifold. I drove another 2,000 miles before writing this review. My results have been good. In terms of performance increase I didn't see anything but that's fine as I wasn't looking for an HP boost. What showed was that my mileage went from 16.5mpg to 17.6mpg. These are city miles excluding open road driving but several miles on local freeways. What I really noticed after installing it was smoother shifting. The six-speed gearbox never seemed to figure out how to shift from first to second and third. It was jerky and inconsistent and made me long for my old 4 speed transmission in my 2007 Siverado. It smoothed out noticeably after installation, which I think helped with mileage per gallon. It's quieter that way. I don't know if this problem was unique to my truck or others, but it's gone now. This purchase quickly pays for itself with increased mileage, but more importantly, it was worth it due to the changes made to the gearshift. I highly recommend it!
