I wanted a pair of new in-ear headphones to replace my everyday Sennheiser CX300-II headphones. As much as I love the CX300-II, I wanted to try something with punchier bass (I'm not an audiophile, but for the price, the CX300-II delivers fairly accurate sound. Pay more attention to accuracy). The Sony MDR XB50AP claims its powerful bass straight away, as the photos on the box clearly show, and it says "EXTRA BASS" in big letters. So I thought this is exactly what I want! And I've had good experiences with Sony basses, having had an SE Walkman phone (for those who remember this one) with Mega Bass headphones a few years ago. I loved these buds, great bass in a small package. I should have bought them from Amazon but some reviewers mention that fakes exist. So I went to BB and got a price that matched Revain's price. I've attached a few photos to show some details of this pair (it says made in Thailand, the flat cables have tiny grooves and look well made, there's "THAILAND" embossed where the earbuds diverge...) everything is it says another reviewer, not found in fakes. That way, someone buying them from Revain can verify that those parts are actually there. So, after a few hours of burning (TBH, I don't know how much it affected) I feel like it's pretty good for me. I listen to all types of music and as I said before I like a punchy bass and it delivers exactly that. They seem a little less accurate compared to my old CX300-II, but I don't care. I find them to be of good quality. Hope they last long. I will update here if there is anything to update. The only downside I could find is that they are big, there is a slightly greater chance of breaking easily if misused (walking on them etc.). I have attached photos along with my CX300-II for size comparison. The CX300-IIs are made small, so I accidentally stepped on them a few times while they were on carpeted floors and it made no difference. But I don't think I can ever take the risk.) In short: Pros: - Really punchy bass - Well made - Flat cables don't tangle easily Cons: - Slightly large headphones (12mm drivers, sorry for the size) If my review helped you in any way, please click the "Yes" below.
