Preserves coffee grounds

Core must be removed before pouring. There is nothing holding the earth and it will pollute the whole pitcher. I even tried holding a coffee filter over it with a rubber band and the coffee grounds still got into the coffee. Too bad it was a gift for me and it has a terrible design flaw.
