Review on SMC Networks SMCWUSB G 802 11B Wireless by Cornelius Mosley

I needed a replacement Wi-Fi adapter for my HP laptop because the OEM built in chip had died. I bought this adapter because I read a review that said it worked well with their Linux computer. On Linux, it's really plug and play. I am using Mepis Linux, plugged it in, went to Mepis administration to enter my WEP key, clicked apply and started surfing the web. The OEM chip channel level showed 52. From the same spot in the house with this adapter, my monitor shows 82. Windows Vista is also installed on this computer and it works well with Vista as well. Vista required the software CD that came with it and after entering the WEP key in Vista I had to restart Windows for it to work, but once installed it works fine.
