Review on π DSLRKIT Active PoE Splitter - Gigabit 802.3at, 24W Power Over Ethernet, 48V to 12V 2A by Jeremy Reddick
Correctly identified as a Class 4 device and more powerful than others.
Tried 2 other inexpensive ones and they identified themselves as class 0 devices and did not call 802.3at from the port (class 0 is an unspecified 802.3af device). So even though they're rated for more than 20 watts, they'll never get that much power. They, on the other hand, are properly shown as Class 4 devices and have been fantastic. Use with Cisco and Extreme Networks SummitX/VPEX switching. Worth a few euros more and no problem with an 18-watt device.
