Review on Premium Replacement Mirror: TYC 8610232 Compatible πŸ” with Volkswagen Jetta - Driver Side Power Heated Mirror by Joz Lowe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More than I expected or expected.

I bought this as a cheap replacement for the Jetta 2000 TDI. I figured I didn't have much to lose with the reviews if it was a piece of junk. Preserved and after inspection of the outer shell, this is an exact copy of the OEM. I took the 2 screws on the bottom cover, carefully pryed them off and pulled them out, removing the bottom black cover of the mirror housing. Then I did some work to get the mirror out and again it turned out to be an exact OEM replacement. Long story short I removed the original and removed the body in the same way and to my surprise the factory painted body matches the frame and mechanism of this mirror exactly. Now it looks like elbow grease after about 5 minutes. I figured I'd either have to paint this or order 2 to match, but it's such a good replacement that you don't need to do either unless you can twist a screwdriver. The original owner we bought this car from drove around. thought for a few years that he would have to do what I thought or spend a bunch of money on a new mirror.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
