Not sure if they're even good for soft cheeses, but they're probably even technically good for cheddar (not that they were). They are just as colorful in person as they are online. A wider blade is (obviously) better for spreading than just a knife (I think that's why there are spreaders with this shape of blade). It's also a bit thick so not as good for slicing things like brie as the more classic metal spatulas I've used, but I don't use it for that. Overall, empirically, I consider this to be the "worst" product. than competitors with similar functionality (such as slightly more knife-shaped metal braces), but this isn't metal, the patterns haven't faded or peeled off yet (although I've only had them a month or two), and I don't cut much with them, so I'm very satisfied and glad I didn't get boring metal. In fact, the metal handles I used had uncomfortable thick round handles. I have large hands and still find them annoying and uncomfortable, so this is one area where this product is empirically better for many people.
