update 070513 - I have been using these scissors for quite some time. I use them in the garden when we go camping, even when laying laminate - to cut the floor. They are excellent, love them and will be buying more to keep and not always get them. These are the best stationery scissors. I have a separate pair for use in the kitchen and they are particularly good for chopping fresh herbs from my garden to use in cooking. I love these scissors! Used them in the garden for the first time this weekend. Cut off the bags of soil, manure and peat. Cut the cord to make the trellis. Cut off the stubborn roots of the weeds I inherited from the garden. My boyfriend laughed at my "cute scissors" when I bought them. Now that he's used them, he's ordered the same ones! The yellow color makes them easy to spot in the dirt. They are not too long so they can easily fit in a pocket. Long handles give great leverage. I love them and am planning to buy another pair for the house.
