The FS200 is very compact, you can take it anywhere. Image quality is relatively good considering the processor and lens. The sound sensor is very good for the built-in microphone. I bought this camera for my son and his fiancee to capture their honeymoon in Cancun. I've also used them as a last resort as a B-cam for last minute wedding videos. I was pleasantly surprised at the good quality given the rather dim light inside the church. I had to touch up the image in Premier to get the correct color (saturation and exposure) for my main camera's output. I was hoping that a hot shoe would be available for this camera, but luckily Canon decided to add a microphone and AV. Output connector since all other manufacturers stopped using it. I have bought two Canon cameras and this feature was my second reason to choose Canon. Great job Canon! Flash cards are a great feature. I use 16GB Transcend cards available here at Revain. When the FS200 is set to the highest image quality, you can record over 4 hours of video on a 16GB card. As for transferring videos to a computer, it's a little depressing. Canon is trying to force you to use its proprietary software to import images from an SD card, using the camera as a 'card reader'. This method ensures that all your video files have the correct metadata, date-encoded naming convention, etc. It has been stated that you can simply remove the SD card and install it on your computer to transfer files. You need to make sure you're using an import API that will name your files for you. If you just "import" the files, you will get files numbered 0001 through 0000x. So I import my files through Adobe Premier so I can name them whatever I want and save them in the right place. This is probably my biggest problem with Canon hence 4 stars. Feel free to buy it.
