The most incongruous feature of this "Good Grips" set is the grips. This is ironic for a brand that has built its reputation on the superior ergonomics and performance of its product grips. All handles on pots, pans and lids are made of solid metal. They are very durable but get very hot with normal cooking. The technology (high-temperature silicon insert) for a pen that can withstand temperatures of up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit or so without getting hot on the stovetop has been around for a long time. I have ten year old Calphalon and T-Fal cookware with this feature. I'm really disappointed in OXO Good Grips on this matter. On the plus side, most cookware is well made, not too heavy or light, and their shape makes contents easy to manipulate and remove. The dishes are heated evenly. The lids are well thought out; Glass with a metal rim. Every pot or pan, except the 10-inch pan, has a lid. So far (six weeks) the non-stick coating works well and is holding up well. The dishes survived several rinse cycles in the dishwasher without any problems. NOTE: The manufacturer recommends using only dishwashing liquid without bleach or citrus fragrance.
